I support ending the wage tax.

While the Trump economy has seen amazing increases in wages, workforce participation rate, and the growth of small businesses across America, parts of House District 23 -- Lynchburg City and Madison Heights -- have still been experiencing higher poverty rates than most of the Commonwealth.

The state personal income tax disincentivizes work. Currently, nines states have no state personal wage tax, including our neighbors in Tennessee. Many of these have ended all taxes on income. If Virginia wants to be competitive in the greater economy, we must end taxes on wages. Let individuals keep the fruits of their labor so that innovation, the free market, and individual choice can thrive.

No individual should have to pay the government for the privilege of going to work.
